Little Abigail

well, here are some more pictures of my favorite subject.... she smiles and squeals all the time... but I think she is too interested in the camera to smile for the camera, but we are still working on it. She is exploring everything and trying to put everything in her mouth. I LOVE being a mom, its the best thing in the whole world!

  2. Cute pics!! You said to critique...so I will, but I only do it 'cause ya asked ;)

It looks for the indoor shots you used flash?? They look good! One thing that I always do when using an off camera flash, is bounce it. Generally straight up at the ceiling. I never shoot with the flash pointed directly at my subjects, it causes the light to be harsh and leaves shadows.
However, you do lose light from the flash with this method. So you will have to play with your exposure in the manual setting more. Once you do it a lot, you won't think about it twice.

For your outdoor pictures, shade/cloud cover is always best for baby pics or close ups. Sun is so fun for other types of shots (can discuss later) but if you notice in these shots, her face is really in the shadows, and her eyes are darker.
If you take her in the shade, you are going to notice a few things:
The background will be more "blown out" (brighter) and her face will have the correct exposure.
Her eyes will "pop" and you will most likely have catch lights.
The tone of her skin is going to be less pink, and more natural. If she has blemishes, these tend to be softer, less noticeable in indirect light.

For baby photography, my thoughts on outfits are this - the simpler, less frills the better. Most of my baby shots are just with a diaper/bloomer. Because clothes bunch up and are just distracting from the baby.

These are just a few things that came to mind!!! Hope you are having a good day!

And don't worry - the road ahead may seem long, but the longer you keep at it, the smoother and easier it gets :)
